History of the Central City Lions Club
The Central City Lions Club was chartered on
October 6, 1965 with 33 members. Currently, we have 58 registered members. The Central City Lions Club is a charitable, non-profit, service organization. We provide glasses and hearing aids for those in need in our community. We help the Salvation Army with the Christmas bell ringing as well as help those children in need with a Christmas party. Every November we have a pancake breakfast that provides two scholarships to two Centralia area high school graduates going to Kaskaskia College. In the spring, we have our annual Reverse Raffle and Easter Egg Hunt. In the summer we have our Lions Fest with our "almost world famous BBQ". We charter our local Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts in Central City and provide for them a safe environment to meet.
Lions Meetings
We meet every first and third Wednesdays
at the Lions Club Shelter.
The dinner meal starts at 6:30 P.M.
followed by our meeting at 7:15 P.M.
